ALAPPUZHA: Various boat clubs have filed complaints about the results of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. Kainakary Village Boat Club, which rowed Veeyapuram Chundan and secured second place, and Nadubhagam Chundan Samithy, which secured third place, are the ones who complained. The complaints were submitted at the RD office as Collector Alex Varghese and Sub Collector Sameer Kishan were absent.

Veeyapuram Chundan Samithy and Kainakary Village Boat Club office-bearers allege that Karichal Chundan's victory in the boat race was a politically motivated coup. Representatives of the complainants said that they would discuss the matter with the Collector tomorrow and that if they were denied justice, they would approach the High Court.

  • The Nehru Trophy was handed over in haste without considering the Chundan Vallams who achieved a tie in the final.
  • Police failed to prevent people from entering the track
  • Fans jumped into the water and held onto the pillars at the finishing line, disrupting the race positions.
  • Since the pillars are of different thickness, the decision to declare Karichal as the winner by a margin of 0.5 milliseconds cannot be accepted
  • With only 19 participating Chundan Vallams, how did Pallathuruthy Boat Club receive the number 20?
