NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inquired about the health of actor Rajinikanth, who was admitted to the hospital. Yesterday, Modi contacted Rajinikanth's wife Latha over the phone and asked about the actor's condition. This was announced by Tamil Nadu BJP State President K Annamalai through social media. Modi also wished for Rajinikanth's speedy recovery.
Rajinikanth was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai on September 30. The hospital bulletin stated that actor Rajinikanth had a swelling in the main blood vessel of his heart (aorta) and was treated without surgery. To address the swelling, a stent was placed in the aorta. Rajinikanth's health condition is satisfactory. He will be discharged from the hospital within two days.
Rajinikanth's wife Latha responded that his health condition is stable. Several people, including film stars and fans, expressed concern about his health. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wished Rajinikanth a speedy recovery. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, actors Kamal Haasan and Vijay also wished for Rajinikanth's speedy recovery.
The 73-year-old actor was busy shooting for the film 'Coolie' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. His new film 'Vettaiyan' is slated to release on October 10. The film is directed by TG Gnanavel.
