THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty said that the 63rd Kerala School Kalolsavam, initially scheduled from December 3-7 in Thiruvananthapuram, has been postponed to the first week of January 2025. The new dates will be announced later. The Minister said that the date was changed because the National Achievement Survey (NAS) examination is scheduled for December 4.
"The Central Department of School Education and Literacy has notified that the National Achievement Survey (NAS) examination will be held on December 4. Since Class 9 students will be taking the exam, they won't be able to participate in the Kalolsavam. Additionally, Christmas exams are scheduled from December 12-20 and Christmas holidays from December 21-29, making it impractical to conduct the Kalolsavam as previously scheduled," the minister said.
Due to the postponement of the State School Kalolsavam, school, sub-district, and district-level festivals have also been rescheduled. School-level competitions will conclude by October 15. Sub-district events will wrap up by November 10, and district-level events by December 3, announced the Minister.
