Malayali youth stabbed to death in Germany; family alleges mystery behind death

MAVELIKKARA: In a shocking incident, a Malayali youth was stabbed to death in Berlin, Germany. The deceased has been identified as Thattarambalam native Adam Joseph (30), the son of Late Daniel and Lilly Daniel. Following the incident, three people, including a black man, were taken into custody by the Berlin Police. Meanwhile, Adam Joseph's family has alleged that there was mystery surrounding his death.

Adam was pursuing an MSc in Computer Cyber Security at Berlin Applied Sciences University. He had moved to Germany 15 months ago. He used to work part-time as a delivery agent. On October 1, Adam's roommates lodged a complaint with the police stating that Adam had gone missing. On October 2, a young man of African descent surrendered to the police, informing them that he had killed Adam. Subsequently, Adam's body was found in the suspect's residence.

The accused told the police that he committed the murder in self-defence. During the investigation, the police took his accomplices into custody. There were several stab wounds on the body. The police are yet to find the motive behind the murder.

Adam's mother Lilly, who is in Bahrain, will come to Kerala today. Efforts are being made to bring Adam's remains to Kerala. Adam has a brother named Daniel.
