Film actors Prayaga Martin, Sreenath Bhasi visited Om Prakash in Kochi's opulent hotel; Police to probe drug deal

KOCHI: It is now reported that top film stars from Mollywood visited notorious gangster Om Prakash, hours before the latter was arrested in a drug case. The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court granted bail to Om Prakash and Shihas in the case on Monday afternoon.

The names of the film stars were included in the remand report submitted by the police requesting that bail be denied for the gangster. According to the report, actor Sreenath Bhasi and actress Prayaga Martin visited Om Prakash's room at a five-star hotel in Kochi on Sunday.

It was Om Prakash’s friend, who booked the room in the opulent hotel in Kochi. The names of around 20 people including popular actors are mentioned in the report. According to the police, banned drugs were consumed inside the room. It is also indicated that Om Prakash and his clique brought drugs from abroad and sold them at the DJ party in Kochi.

The police had also demanded that Sreenath and Prayaga be taken into custody and questioned. However, the police could not produce evidence of drug use. Bail was granted to Om Prakash and Shihas because the medical examination could not prove the use of drugs.

The arrest of Om Prakash, who was caught from Kochi the other day for possession of intoxicants, was recorded and produced in court. The police seized cocaine from the possession of Shihas, who was arrested along with Om Prakash.

Om Prakash told police that he visited Kochi only to attend a DJ party in Bolgatty. On Sunday, police received information about Om Prakash’s suspicious Kochi visit. The narcotics department started an investigation after getting a tip-off about a drug deal going inside the five-star hotel.

Om Prakash was taken into custody and was questioned inside the police station on Sunday. Later, his arrest was recorded.
