NEW DELHI: The Congress has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission regarding the delay in publishing the Haryana election results and leads. In the complaint filed by Congress, it was pointed out that there was a delay in publishing the results between 9 and 11 am.
Congress senior leader Jairam Ramesh clarified that even after 11 rounds of vote counting, ECI managed to publish only the results of rounds 4 and 5 on the website. He added that the same happened in the Lok Sabha elections and termed it a pressure tactic at the behest of BJP.
'We request you to immediately issue instructions to your officials to update the website with true and accurate figures so that false news and narratives can be countered” from the complaint.
On early Tuesday morning, Congress was leading in Haryana when the postal votes were counted. Hours later, the BJP managed to stage a thrilling comeback. As per the latest figures, the BJP has surpassed the absolute majority in 51 seats and the Congress in 34 seats. JJP, which was supposed to be decisive in the state, is still at zero. Independents are leading in all 5 seats.
