SRINAGAR: The body of a soldier, who was abducted by terrorists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, has been found. The deceased soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Bhat who belonged to the 161 Battalion of the Territorial Army. According to reports, there are multiple gunshot wounds in the body. The body was recovered from the Patribal forest region in Anantnag.
Two soldiers, including Hilal, were abducted by the terrorists during a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police yesterday. The incident occurred at Shangus in the Kokernag area of the Anantnag district. The two soldiers were in civilian attire when they were abducted. One of them managed to escape and return, but suffered serious injuries from gunshot wounds. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital and doctors stated that his condition is stable.
The incident occurred shortly after the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election results were announced. The Army reported that a search operation was launched to track down the terrorists.
