Renu, the widow of late actor Kollam Sudhi, has publicly addressed the ongoing social media harassment she faces following her husband's tragic death in a car accident. In her heartfelt response, she questioned societal expectations of widows: “Am I not allowed to live my life because I am a widow? I am exhausted from hearing constant criticism.”
Since Sudhi's passing, Renu has received support from many, but she has also faced relentless cyberattacks, often being criticized for her choice of clothing and her ability to smile in public. Recently, she has been targeted with false claims that she has abandoned Sudhi’s son from a previous marriage.
“I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong,” Renu said. “Why does it feel like everything I do is a crime? I’m fed up. It feels like the only options are to end my life or consider remarriage. Why is there such scrutiny over my choices?”
She emphasized that while she hasn’t thought about remarriage yet, she believes she doesn’t need anyone’s permission to make that decision. “Is it because Ettan is dead that whatever I do or say is wrong? I just want to live my life,” she concluded, underscoring her desire for understanding and compassion during a difficult time.
