The train will start running from Thiruvananthapuram on the 16th. The coaches, built using German technology, are equipped with seating arrangements in a manner that is convenient for passengers.
One of the advantages is that the risk of accidents from the coaches colliding is low. It is made of light metal parts. Trains with such coaches can travel faster. Earlier, railway officials had announced that the new train will run from September 29.
Passengers have been complaining about the coaches in the Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Janshatabdi for a long time. The railway authorities had once resolved the problems in the coaches which were in a very bad condition.
Apart from shifting to LHB coaches, there was also a demand to make this train a daily service, but it was not accepted. Railway officials said a change to LHB coach is expected in the Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode Janshatabdi train also by the next financial year.
