MUMBAI: Former Maharashtra minister and NCP Ajit Pawar's leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai. He was shot at the office in Mumbai's Bandra this evening. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai with serious injuries but he succumbed to his injuries.
The miscreants armed with guns opened fire more than three times at Baba Siddique. He sustained injuries on his chest and stomach. Siddique was shot dead at the office of his son and sitting MLA Zeeshan Siddique in Bandra.
Baba Siddique was earlier with the Congress but later switched over to the NCP Ajit Pawar camp. From 2004 to 2008, he was the Minister for Food and Broadcasting. He was an MLA from Bandra in the 1999, 2004 and 2009 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
According to local media reports, three people have been arrested in connection with the incident. However, the details of the accused have not been officially released.
