Pooram disruption allegation; special team formed under leadership of Crime Branch chief for investigation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special team has been formed to investigate the allegation regarding the disruption of Thrissur Pooram celebrations. Crime Branch Chief H Venkatesh will lead the team. The special team has been formed by including officials from the local police, cyber division and vigilance.

The investigation team comprises Thrissur Range DIG Thomson Jose, Kollam Rural SP Sabu Mathew, Kochi ACP P Rajkumar, Vigilance DySP Biju V Nair, Inspectors Chitharanjan and R Jayakumar. The government had earlier decided to register a case and conduct an investigation into the Pooram disruption. The government announced a three-tier inquiry on October 3 based on the recommendation of the DGP. ADGP MR Ajith Kumar had led an investigation in this regard and submitted a report to the government. The special team has been appointed to investigate the charges, including conspiracy, found in the investigation of Ajith Kumar.
