THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of a newborn baby was found buried in a compound in Thiruvananthapuram. The body was found buried in a fodder cultivation land in Vavarayambalam, Pothencode, where cattle feed is grown. The deceased is an underdeveloped infant, allegedly buried by its mother, Amritha, a Nepalese native, after giving birth.

The incident came to light when Amritha was admitted to the SAT hospital due to excessive bleeding after delivery. It was the doctors of the SAT hospital who informed the police about the matter. Following this, the body was recovered during the inspection conducted by the police, Pothencode panchayat authorities and forensic experts. The woman told the police that she gave birth to the child at around eight o'clock last night. The police have registered a case in the incident.
