BENGALURU: A revamped New Zealand under new captain Tom Latham drubbed India to register a majestic win in the Bengaluru test match on Sunday. The win will go down into the annals and is historic, as it is after 36 years that Kiwis are tasting success against India on Indian soil.

Sarfraz's century and Rishabh Pant's half-century helped India to register a decent total. However, New Zealand's prolific bowling attack proved a nightmare for India.

India resumed the first innings at 231/3 on the fourth day at Chinnaswamy and was bowled out for 462 runs.

With a target of 107 runs, the Kiwis surpassed the total in just 28 overs. Rachin Ravindra and Will Young are the architects of New Zealand's historic win. The last time New Zealand won a Test match in India was in 1988. It was John Wright-led Kiwi team that defeated India by 136 runs in the match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
