THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A big black bear was seen prowling on the roads in Thiruvananthapuram’s Vellarada. Taping workers in the area first spotted the bear and informed the panchayat authorities. The forest department said that surveillance has been intensified in the area.

CCTV footage has also emerged showing the bear roaming and chasing the dogs. The taping workers spotted the bear two days ago but the big beast went at large, only resurfacing back on Monday night through CCTV visuals.

There have been bear attacks in the area before. Forest officials are now planning to set up a trap in case the bear reappears in the area again.
