THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has recommended Dr MS Rajasree for the interim Vice-Chancellor position at Digital University, despite her previous removal from Kerala Technological University's top spot due to appointment irregularities. Dr MS Rajasree has been included as the top contender in the panel to take over as the Vice-Chancellor of Digital University, once Dr. Saji Gopinath's term ends on the 24th.
The government had earlier appointed Dr Rajasree as Director of Technical Education. The move to appoint her as the VC of Digital University comes after her retirement. The Vice-Chancellor position at Digital University has an age limit of 61 years. Digital University Registrar Dr A Mujeeb and former CUSAT VC Dr KN Madhusoodanan are also on the government's panel.
The government has also recommended appointing Saji Gopinath, whose term is ending at Digital University, as the temporary Vice-Chancellor of Technological University. Currently, Saji holds the temporary charge of the Technological University as well. The Governor had served notice for Saji Gopinath's removal from Digital University, citing irregularities in his appointment process.
