'Proud to be family member of Wayanad, you have given strength and courage to my brother'; Priyanka Gandhi

KALPETTA: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that although she had campaigned in many elections in the last 35 years, this was the first time she was campaigning for herself. Priyanka was speaking at a public function in Kalpetta after a roadshow. She also expressed gratitude to her family and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for giving her an opportunity to contest in Wayanad. Several Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, attended the function in Kalpetta.

"Some days ago, I had visited Mundakkai in Wayanad with my brother. We met several people there who lost everything they had. Many people lost their livelihood due to the landslides. I saw people working together, selflessly helping each other. They showed genuine love and support for each other, without any greed," Priyanka said.

"The courage of the people of Wayanad has deeply touched my heart. I feel proud to become a family member of Wayanad. We live in very strange times. Those in power are dividing the people who gave them power. Those in power are weakening democracy. This is not politics. We are fighting for truth, equality, and justice. The beloved people of Wayanad stood with my brother. You gave him strength and courage," she said.

"My family will always be grateful for the support you gave to my brother. My brother has told me about the main issues that you are facing. However, I need to talk to you directly. Besides wildlife-human conflict, medical college hospital, and night travel ban, I want to solve your other problems as well. This is my new journey, and you are my guru," Priyanka said.
