Death of Naveen Babu; Divya circulated videos of farewell function

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been found that it was P P Divya, former district panchayat president, who circulated the incriminating videos of ADM Naveen Babu's farewell function. The finding is in the investigation report of land revenue joint commissioner A Geetha. Divya herself gave the videos to many medias. The joint commissioner will hand over the report to the government today.

The land revenue joint commissioner is yet to receive any evidence or statements on the allegation that Naveen Babu deliberately delayed the file in granting NOC for the petrol pump at Chengalayi in Kannur. It is reported that there is no proof for Naveen Babu receiving the bribe. Divya, who levelled the allegations of receiving bribe, has not yet given a statement in the incident.

Meantime, Divya's anticipatory bail plea is being considered by the Thalassery Principal Sessions Court today. Divya is the first accused in the crime of abetment to suicide. The police said that the investigation is on and Divya is not at her home in Irinave. The police said they had gone there thrice, but she was not there. Her husband Ajith also said that he does not know where Divya is. There were reports that Divya is hiding in Palakkayam Resort, a hill resort in Kannur. The police said that an investigation was conducted and no evidence was found. The ADM was found dead in his quarters in the morning of October 15. Divya was at home in Irinav on that day and the following two days. She was implicated in the case on October 17 evening. Divya then resigned her post.
