PALAKKAD: Threats have reached the women who joined the rally in support of MLA Anwar’s party DMK in Palakkad on Wednesday. Footage has surfaced of threats being made by those believed to be Anwar's supporters.
“You are quite aged, else we would have done the work”; came in the audio threat received by a Koduvayur native woman who participated in the DMK rally on Wednesday.
While responding to some media portals, a few women participants in the DMK rally offhandedly revealed how they were brought to the event by agents. They also were unaware of the political party or the leader involved in the rally. In the video, the woman also revealed that she had acted in a few movies and said that the DMK candidate Minhaj was a film producer.
Some others revealed that many women were brought from film sets to the event. DMK’s road show in Palakkad witnessed a huge crowd including great participation from women.
“We are coming from Koduvayur. It was agent Naseema who brought us to the rally. We don’t know about the remuneration but will take whatever they give at the end of the day. We have worked in movies as junior artists that usually paid Rs 500 daily.” This confession from a woman who attended the rally went viral on social media, inviting the wrath of Anvar’s supporters.
With trolls and scoffing comments pouring from all sections, even MLA Anvar had to give up his silence on the issue.
“In the DMK rally in Palakkad, CPM carefully infiltrated many of its supporters with plans to ruin it. It is CPM behind the move. I have given no money to anyone who attended the event” said P V Anvar.
