NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old girl named Soni was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Sanju alias Salim, along with two accomplices. The incident reportedly stemmed from Soni’s continuous demands for marriage, compounded by her being seven months pregnant. The police have arrested Salim and one of his associates, while a search is underway for a third suspect.
According to authorities, Soni had been pressing her boyfriend to marry her, which led to frequent arguments. Salim, on the other hand, had reportedly asked her multiple times to terminate the pregnancy, a request Soni refused. Her parents stated that they had noticed her frequently speaking to someone over the phone. When questioned, Soni reportedly mentioned that she was talking to a ghost.
The fatal incident occurred last Monday when Soni left her home to meet Salim, carrying some personal belongings. Investigations revealed that Salim, with the help of two others, transported her to Rohtak, Haryana, where they allegedly murdered her and buried her body.
Soni was an active presence on social media, with over 6,000 followers on Instagram, where she shared pictures and videos with Salim. The police noted that Salim had also posted several images of Soni on social media platforms.
