NEW DELHI: HRDS has lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police and the Governor regarding the interview of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan published in The Hindu newspaper. In its complaint, HRDS demanded that an investigation should be conducted against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the journalist, The Hindu and the PR agency involved in the interview. HRDS Secretary Ajith Krishna stated that they will approach the court if no action is taken on complaints. HRDS filed the complaint weeks after the CM's Malappuram remark related to gold smuggling in the interview sparked controversy.

At the same time, the Chief Minister clarified in his written response in the Assembly that the question of whether a PR agency representative was present during the interview was not relevant since no agency was assigned for the interview.
