Decayed bodies of YouTuber and husband found in Parassala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A couple was found dead in their house. The incident happened at Kinattumukku at Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram. The dead have been identified as Selvaraj (45) of Cheruvarakonam and his wife Priya (40). Selvaraj was found hanging and body of Priya was lying on the bed. Priya was a YouTuber. She had uploaded a song on Friday night.

The couple has a son and a daughter. Their daughter is at her husband’s house and son is a home nursing trainee in Kochi. The incident came to light he reached home last night. The house was found locked. The cause of death and when it happened is not clear. The Parassala police said that it is a case of suicide.

‘They had financial difficulties. The family used to go for work. There were no other problems. The house they live was obtained from the panchayat. It was inaugurated by the MLA. They had some financial problems. However, it is not clear whether this led to the suicide. The bodies were found inside the house when their son reached home at 9 pm last night. He immediately ran and informed the neighbors. The bodies were decomposed and could not identify them in the beginning, said the panchayat member.

Couple active in YouTube
The couple had a YouTube channel. She posted a video on her channel on Friday night giving clues about the death. The last video they posted on the channel was one made by adding various photos and videos of both of them in the background of the song ‘Vidaparayum Neram’. Their YouTube channel is ‘Sellus Family’.

Priya, who used to come live on YouTube every night, came live last on Thursday. In the last two days, four hours and six hours of live were posted on the channel. Priya was seen very happy in the last live video she posted on Thursday night. Local residents said that there is a mystery in the incident that led both to commit suicide.
