Thrissur Pooram disruption: Police register case, will investigate conspiracy, action taken on SIT's complaint

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have finally registered a case on the Thrissur Pooram disruption allegation. The action was taken on the complaint of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the conspiracy. No one has been named as an accused in the case registered by Thrissur Town Police. The case has been filed under various sections, including promoting enmity between different sections, conspiracy, and disrupting religious festivities

A team led by ADGP MR Ajith Kumar had conducted an investigation into the Pooram disruption and submitted a report to the government. On October 17, a Special Investigation Team was appointed to conduct an investigation into the crimes, including conspiracy, found in the investigation. The case is being investigated by a seven-member team led by Crime Branch Chief H Venkatesh. The team consists of Thrissur Range DIG Thomson Jose, Kollam Rural SP Sabu Mathew, Kochi ACP P. Rajkumar, Vigilance DySP Biju V. Nair, and Inspectors Chitharangan and R. Jayakumar.
