Terrorists open fire at army vehicle in Jammu, search operations launched

SRINAGAR: Terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident happened in Akhnoor Monday morning at 7 pm. No casualties have been reported. Following the incident, the Indian Army has launched search operations. Three persons fired multiple rounds at the vehicle.


After the incident, there are reports that the army cordoned off the area and arrested the assailants. The firing came as the army was beefing up security in the area ahead of Diwali celebrations. Two soldiers were martyred and more than 12 people were killed in a recent encounter in the region.


On October 24, there was an attack on an army vehicle in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir. Two soldiers were martyred and two laborers were killed in the incident. The terrorists fired at the vehicle from near the Line of Control.
