THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's office has come up with an explanation when there is criticism in the LDF itself in connection with the Thrissur Pooram disruption. The Chief Minister reiterated that the Thrissur Pooram was not disrupted. "The government has always taken the same stand in this regard. It is that the pooram was not disrupted, but that there were attempts to disrupt it. This was made clear in the cabinet decision on the probe and in the assembly. It is the Sangh Parivar that is keen to use pooram and similar festivals for communal gains. Instead of taking the responsibility of politically exposing and preventing such mischievous moves, with the same aim of the Sangh Parivar, the opposition is making a sinister move to reap the benefits by establishing that the pooram was disturbed," the CM alleged in a press release.
"The opposition is trying to establish that pooram was disturbed with intolerance when the government is exposing it. This is because the opposition is playing as the B team of the Sangh Parivar." Pinarayi Vijayan said that the interference in pooram celebrations will be examined and if a crime is committed at the official level, there will be punishment.
