THRISSUR: Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi skipped queries from the media on his controversial arrival in an ambulance to the Thrissur Pooram premises during the ruckus. When asked about the statement made in Chelakkara on Monday, the union minister haughtily asked the media to move out of his way.

MoS Suresh Gopi earlier said that he reached the Pooram premises in a car at midnight hour to question the atrocious police manhandling of devotees and denied taking a ride in the ambulance. The minister made the remarks while speaking at an election convention in Chelakkara.

“Do bring CBI to enquire about the Pooram disruption case. This will end up as a boomerang for CPM. On that day, I reached the spot in the car of the BJP district president and not in any ambulance. Kerala police will not be able to solve the Pooram disruption case.” Said Suresh Gopi.

However, BJP Thrissur district president Aneesh Kumar vaguely denied Suresh Gopi’s claims. Aneesh clarified that the union minister travelled up to the swaraj round in a car but later took a ride in an ambulance to reach the Pooram spot.

Moreover, the footage of Suresh Gopi reaching the ambulance was widely circulated on social media.
