This famous actor helped Ratan Tata when he had no change to make a call

MUMBAI: Industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata died on October 9. In a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the host Big B shared some touching stories of Ratan Tata. Big B said the death of Ratan Tata is a loss to the nation. Bollywood actor Big B recounted a memorable interaction with the industrialist.

He made the revelations about Tata while hosting the programme attended by filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Boman Irani. The actor said Ratan Tata was a simple human being.

‘Once we travelled together to London. We landed at Heathrow Airport. He could not find his aides at the airport. So, he went to the phone booth to make a call and the actor was waiting nearby. After a short while, he came towards me and said Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you, I don’t have a change to make a phone call.’ I could not believe it, he said.

The actor also recounted another incident where Tata’s modesty took even his friends by surprise. He recounted how a friend who attended an event with Ratan Tata was astonished when he asked him for a ride home. ‘Can you drop me home? I live behind your house and I don’t have a car.’ Big B said, ‘Can you believe, Ratan Tata without a car!’
