NEW DELHI: Two people died in firing during Diwali celebrations. The incident took place in Delhi's Shahdara. Akash Sharma (40) and his nephew Rishabh Sharma (16) were killed. Akash Sharma's son Krish Sharma (10) was injured in the firing. The child is currently being treated at the hospital.

The police said that they were attacked at around eight o'clock last night. The family was celebrating Diwali outside their house in Shahrara's Farsh Bazar. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses say that two armed men on a scooter fired at them. All the three were rushed to the hospital but Akash and Rishabh died.

The reason for the attack is personal enmity. Akash's wife said that she knew the assailants and that there had been a dispute between them over land grabbing for years. The police informed that the detailed statement of the family members will be recorded in the incident and the investigation in the case is going on. Investigation is in progress with the help of CCTV footage to trace the attackers.
