KOLLAM: A car caught fire in Ramankulangara, Kollam, leaving its occupants unharmed. The incident involved the vehicle of Pradeep Kumar, a Marutthadi resident, who was traveling with his wife when they noticed smoke billowing from the car's front end. Acting quickly, the couple stopped the vehicle and exited, narrowly avoiding a major accident. Fire and rescue services arrived promptly, but the vehicle was completely gutted by the flames.
In a similar incident, another moving car caught fire at the Kanjirathumood Junction in Chithara, Kollam. Shihabuddin and his father, who were traveling to a shop from Madathara, noticed smoke coming from the car’s bonnet as they neared Kanjirathumood. Shihabuddin quickly parked the car, and both exited just before flames erupted. Locals alerted the Kadakkal Fire Force and Chithara Police, who extinguished the fire after a 30-minute operation. However, the vehicle was completely burned.
Several months earlier, a parked car near Vadi Church in Kollam also caught fire. The owner, a Pattathanam native, had left the vehicle unattended when it began to burn from the front. Parts of the car, including the headlight and bumper, were damaged. Nearby residents noticed the smoke and notified fire services, who arrived to contain the blaze.
