Couple arrested for murdering 15-year-old house help, minor girl subjected to burns from hot iron

CHENNAI: The police have arrested a couple in the case of murdering their 15-year-old house help after brutally beating her. The couple has been identified as Mohammad Nishad and his wife Nasiya. The girl was working as a house help in the couple's flat at Mehta Nagar in Aminjikarai area. The police have found that the girl was subjected to brutal torture, including burns from a hot iron and cigarette butts. Police said four others have been detained in the case.

After committing the crime, the accused left the girl's body in their toilet and fled to the man’s sister's house. Nishad's lawyer informed the police about the death. The girl is from Thanjavur district. The body has been shifted to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. Police said that more details will be revealed only after receiving the postmortem report.
