Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have been mired in gossip over the years. There have been talks about their strained marriage, but the star duo haven't made anything official. Adding more spice to the news came another rumour of Abhishek courting actress Nimrat Kaur. The actress later clarified the issue and called the gossip a shameful attempt to taint her repute. However, it is confirmed that Aishwarya Rai and her daughter have moved away from ‘Jalsa’, the residence of the Bachchan family.

Amid the divorce news, an old video of Jaya Bachchan is going viral on social media.

It was at a book launch and the stage had Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta Nanda and Navya Naveli. At the event, Jaya Bachchan invited Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor to the stage, addressing her as her future daughter-in-law. Karishma then ascended the stage and posed for a photo with the Bachchan family. The event took place back in the 2000s.

Abhishek and Karishma were engaged in 2002, but the marriage never materialised for reasons unknown. Abhishek later married Aishwarya, while Karishma married businessman Sanjay Kapoor. Karishma got divorced in 2016. Now, with the old video going viral, netizens are juxtaposing it with the current happenings surrounding the Bachchan family.
