KALPATTA: The body of Rathin (24), an auto driver from Mankani Colony, was recovered from a local river, where he is believed to have taken his own life. Rathin had been missing since yesterday, with his autorickshaw discovered abandoned near the riverbank, raising concerns among family members and locals. A search operation involving community members and Civil Defense rescue workers led to the recovery of his body.

According to his relatives, Rathin had previously expressed intentions of self-harm and reportedly left a video explaining his reasons. They allege that he was recently confronted by police officers after being seen talking to a young woman and was threatened with charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Distraught by the incident, Rathin allegedly recorded a video and later jumped into the river.
