KOCHI: The High Court has quashed the case registered against renowned director Shrikumar Menon on the complaint lodged by a prominent actress. Justice S Manu has dismissed the further proceedings of the case in the Thrissur First Class Magistrate Court based on the charge sheet filed by Thrissur East Police. The court stated that the allegations of harassment, obscene gestures, and obscene language against the complainant do not hold merit. The order also stated that despite receiving several notices, the actress did not submit a reply to the petition filed by Shrikumar Menon.
In October 2019, the actress filed a complaint with the DGP, alleging that Shrikumar Menon was spreading defamatory statements and using abusive language against her. Based on this complaint, the Thrissur police registered a case against Shrikumar Menon. In her complaint, the actress alleged that Shrikumar Menon had misused letterheads signed by her and harassed her on the film set as well as during promotions. She also accused Shrikumar Menon of verbally abusing her at the Dubai Airport. However, the court pointed out that the incident in Dubai was not mentioned in the complaint she filed with the DGP.
