Two women cops killed after hit by car while travelling on bike to nab accused

CHENNAI: Two women cops including a sub inspector were killed after a car hit them while they were on their way in search of a theft accused. They have been identified as Jayashree (33), sub inspector of Madhavaram police station and constable Nithya (27). The accident happened near Madhurantakam on the Chennai-Trichy highway.

The speeding car hit them from behind when Jayashree and Nithya were riding on the bike. They were thrown from their bike and was rushed to Chengalpet Government Medical College, but their lives could not be saved. The car driver Anpazhakan has been arrested. He is believed to have been drunk.

Jayashree was an Instagram influencer having nearly two lakh followers. She usually shares reels of bike riding. She used to get a lot of likes and comments.
