THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an unfortunate incident, a 23-year-old lost his life after meeting with an accident in Maranalloor. The dead is Vivek of Maranalloor. He lay on the road for around half-an-hour without medical attention or police assistance. The CCTV visuals of it have surfaced.

The accident happened after his bike hit a post on Sunday night. The visuals show a motorist and later people in the car looking at the youth lying on the road. But none were willing to take him to the hospital.

A police vehicle came that way after fifteen minutes and after another fifteen minutes, an ambulance arrived. He was then taken to a nearby private hospital and later to the medical college hospital. He died while undergoing treatment.

Locals and relatives said the youth was not taken in a car or a police vehicle that came later, and if he had been taken that way, his life could have been saved. However, the police explained that taking him to the hospital in a jeep without prior precautions after he was seriously injured would have been more dangerous, and that is why they waited for an ambulance.
