Bollywood star couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone recently took to social media to introduce their newborn baby to the world. Sharing a picture of the baby's feet on the day of Diwali, the actors announced that they had named their daughter 'Dua Padukone Singh'.
'Dua Padukone Singh- Dua means prayer, and she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude,' the couple captioned the post on Instagram.
However, the star couple is now facing a cyber attack over the name given to their child. A large number of social media users questioned the couple's decision to choose the name Dua, which is perceived to be of Muslim origin. These people even accused the couple of hurting religious sentiments by giving their child a Muslim name.
Some people are asking why the couple named the child Dua, instead of a more traditional Hindu name like 'Prarthana'.
'Did you two forget that you're Hindus? Why didn't you name the child Prarthana?' one person commented.
