NEW DELHI: The political review report presented in the Central Committee expressed concern over the seven per cent decrease in CPM votes in Kerala, just ten years after BJP formed government at the centre.
In Kerala, the only state under the CPM rule, the vote percentage of the Red Party dropped from 40.42 per cent to 33.35 per cent in ten years. The report voiced concern over the rise of RSS and BJP in the state and called for urgent measures to resist the saffron advance. The progress of the BJP in Kerala was evident in the last Lok Sabha elections.
The report also mentioned how the INDI alliance was able to subdue the BJP's domination nationally but expressed dismay over CPM’s poor performance. This report is ahead of the party congress scheduled in Madurai in April 2025.
REPORT:
“Congress' economic neoliberal policies and soft Hindutva stance must be resisted while working on a secular 'India' mostly against Hindutva agendas. Communist ideals must be kept intact. Communist activities should not be hampered in the state; for the same matter, it is better to keep a distance away from the Congress party.
Socialism should be advanced as an alternative. The changes in the middle class should be considered. There is a need to revive grassroots work. There is also a need to raise voice against Islamic terrorism that is imposing strict restrictions on women.”
The Central Committee will prepare political draft resolutions for the Party Congress on the basis of the facts arising from the discussion in the sub-sections of the report.
