Financial aid of Rs 4 lakh to families of fireworks victims, extends tenure of Justice V K Mohanan Commission

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet that convened here Wednesday decided to extend the tenure of Justice V K Mohanan Commission entrusted to look into matters related to diversion of investigations by central agencies, by another six months. Along with this, the tenure of Justice V K Mohanan Commission investigating the boat accident at Thooval Theeram beach in Tanur, has also been extended by six months.

Financial aid

An amount of Rs 4 lakh each will be given from the chief minister’s relief fund to the families of the four dead in the fireworks accident at the Neeleswaram Anjuttambalam Veerarkavu temple in Kasaragod. Rs 3 lakh each will be given to the dependents of the Tamil Nadu Salem natives who died after being hit by a train during cleaning work at Shornur Railway Bridge.

Stamp duty waived
9,67,61,000 will be waived as stamp duty and registration fee required for registering the agreement to take over 138.23 crores of KDTFC's loan portion from Kerala Bank by pledging properties owned by KSRTC.
