KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team registered 26 FIRs following the revelations made by Justice Hema Committee report. This has been stated in the investigation report submitted to the High Court on Thursday.

The government stated that the Justices Dr AK Jayasankaran Nambiar and CS Sudha expressed satisfaction with the progress of the investigation over the Hema committee report revelations. Advocate Mitha Sudhindran was appointed as amicus curiae in the case.

The government has also stated that in 18 registered cases, the victims have sought time to provide statements. Five victims refused to go ahead with legal proceedings. However, officials have confirmed moving ahead with the investigation. In three cases, the victims disagreed with the statements in Hema committee report and claimed it as false.

The court suggested the government form a new film policy that remains women-centric. The WCC informed the court that a draft had been prepared regarding the formulation of the film policy. It has been stated that a voluntary organization called the Cultural Academy for Peace has also prepared a draft in this regard. The case will be considered again on the 21st.
