PALAKKAD: The controversy over the blue trolley bag at the KPM Hotel in Pallakad started on Tuesday midnight. The black money allegation raised against UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil and the subsequent inspection at the KPM Hotel has been a hot topic of discussion since then. However, newly surfaced CCTV footage from the hotel has debunked Mamkootathil's claims. It has become clear that Rahul did not travel to Kozhikode in the car carrying the blue trolley bag.

The trolley bag was taken into a white Innova Crysta car. However, Rahul got into another car. Rahul was with Feni Ninan when Feni placed the trolley bag in the Innova Crysta car. The new CCTV footage showed Rahul then getting into another car parked in front of this car. The CCTV footage contradicts the explanations provided by Rahul after the controversy broke out. The video also showed Feni driving the Innova car after the car carrying Rahul left for Kozhikode.

Earlier, Rahul Mamkootathil had claimed that the trolley bag contained his clothes and other belongings as he was on his way to Kozhikode. Rahul had displayed the trolley bag in a press conference held the next day after the raid. He had claimed that he used to carry his trolley bag with him wherever he went.
