Minor girl gang-raped in Puducherry; autorickshaw driver, techies arrested

PUDUCHERRY: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was subjected to gang rape in Puducherry. The victim is a 16-year-old girl who came from Mumbai with her family to celebrate Diwali in Puducherry. The girl was sexually assaulted by an autorickshaw driver and four techies.

The incident related to the case took place on October 30. The girl, who came out of her relative's house following a dispute with her parents, was picked up by the autorickshaw driver. After promising to take her to some tourist places, he took her to his house. He then gave her liquor and raped her. He later dropped the girl near the beach.

As the girl was trying to get a lift to go to her parents, four techies came to her. They then took her to a flat and gang-raped her. The accused abandoned her on the Beach Road on November 1. Police have arrested the autorickshaw driver hailing from Puducherry and techies hailing from Odisha and Telangana in the incident. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act.
