KOCHI: The Kerala High Court will give draft suggestions to ensure a pro-women stance in the new law to be introduced by the government on the recommendation of the Hema Committee. Advocate Mitha Sudhindran was appointed as amicus curiae to assist the court in this. The action was taken by a special bench comprising Justice AK Jayashankaran Nambiar and Justice CS Sudha.

Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) informed the court that they had prepared their suggestions. The Cultural Academy for Peace, which joined as a party in the petition, demanded that a Health, Safety, and Environment Officer be made mandatory in film sets. The court directed the parties to submit their suggestions.

The government sought more time to respond. Producer Sajimon Parayil's lawyer expressed concerns about introducing special legislation to regulate the film industry. However, the court said that there was no need to worry. The court will consider the matter again on November 21.
