PALAKKAD: Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar indirectly criticized the police over allegations that Congress leaders had brought black money to a hotel. In an interview with the media, he suggested that if the police had arrived at the hotel earlier, they might have discovered the money.

"The Election Commission now has control over everything," the minister stated. "This is not something in which a chief minister or any other minister can intervene. I will review the information when I receive it. The system is under the Election Commission’s jurisdiction. Don’t imply that the government sent the police; don’t be misled."

Kumar pointed out that, during an election, the police have the authority to conduct checks based on information received. "They can inspect any location, stop anyone’s car. Even when I was a candidate, my car was stopped. If the police had arrived a little earlier and checked each room, they might have found the money."

Referring to his experience as an actor, Kumar added, "You can tell from a distance whether someone is drinking from an empty cup or a full tea cup. In the video, you can see the difference between carrying a heavy box and rolling a light one. It was probably money."
