Search operations stopped in Kavalappara due to heavy rains

MALAPPURAM: Search operations have stopped at Kavalappara in Malappuram where a landslide occurred following heavy rains. The decision is based on the possibility of earth caving in. One more body was recovered from Kavalappara Wednesday morning. So far 26 bodies were recovered from Kavalappara. 33 more are to be found again. There are heavy rains in various parts of the state today. Heavy rains are continuing in the hilly areas of Kozhikode. The Pampa River and the big stream are overflowing in Ranni overnight. The water level rose in the rains that started last evening. Only quarter water was there in Pampa River and streams nearby yesterday. There are heavy rains in Ranni now.
