Girl dies after eating coconut piece laced with rat poison

ALAPPUZHA: A 15-year-old girl died after eating a piece of coconut laced with poison kept to trap rats. She has been identified as Manikutty of Alappuzha Thakazhi Kallepuram. A piece of coconut mixed with poison was placed in the house due to rat infestation. Without knowing it, the girl ate the coconut piece.

Her grandmother had lost her mobility after taking rabies vaccine. The incident happened when her parents went to the hospital for her treatment. The girl’s relatives said the girl, who came from school took the piece and ate it. Her body has been shifted to the hospital. The body will be handed over to her relatives after post-mortem.
