OTTAWA: Wanted Khalistan separatist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla has been arrested in Canada. He was a close aide of slain Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The arrest was made in connection with a shootout incident that took place in Milton on October 27 and 28. Considering the ongoing diplomatic strife between India and Canada, it has become difficult for Indian agencies to get updates on the case. It is learned that Canada had made Dalla's arrest earlier, but the news leaked only on Sunday.
Security agencies were closely monitoring Arsh Dalla’s movements after his dubious role in sparking separatist movements in Canada. It is not known whether Dalla has been released from jail or remains in custody. According to intelligence agencies, Dalla, involved in various criminal activities in India, lives in Canada with his wife.
Dalla, who is acting chief of the Khalistani Tigerforce, is touted as Nijjar's successor.
