Calicut FC humble Forca Kochi, wins debut Super League Kerala title

KOZHIKODE: In an exciting finale of Super League Kerala's inaugural season, Calicut FC defeated Forca Kochi to take home the prestigious winners trophy. In the tightly contested match in the corporation stadium, the home fans had much to celebrate as Calicut scored twice.

Throughout the season, Calicut displayed aggressive football scoring many goals. The team repeated the same game format in the finals, gifting a thrilling match. Thoi Singh scored for Calicut in the 15th minute and Belfort in the 71st minute.

The starting of the game favoured Kochi as Calicut team were taken aback by the sudden surge of Kochi players towards the Calicut defence. Despite many attempts, Kochi failed to break through the bulwark. In a saving grace, Dorielton scored for Kochi in the 93 minute but further attempts to equalize didn’t reach fruition.
