PATHANAMTHITTA: In a bizarre birthday bash, a gang blocked the main road in Pathanamthitta for over an hour. More than 50 youths in 20 cars reached the spot to celebrate Vettipuram native Shiyas birthday at the main road of Pathanamthitta junction. It is alleged that the group received support from the DYFI Vettipuram branch.
The celebration was held at St Peter's Junction Pathanamthitta from nine to ten on Saturday night. Due to the reckless birthday celebration, traffic snarl worsened in the area as this road connected General Hospital, Pathanamthitta Central Junction, Thiruvalla, Stadium Road and Vettipuram.
Not just the heedless action, the group also shared the celebration videos on their social media page. As per the latest report, Police have arrested Shiyas. This incident is not new for Pathanamthitta natives. Some months back, a KAAPA case accused, and a drunken gang from Elavumthitta had previously celebrated the birthday in a similar manner blocking traffic.
Meanwhile, CPM dismissed news of Shiyas having a connection with the party. CPM Pathanamthitta Area Secretary MV Sanju assured about strict action, if found any involvement of DYFI workers in the celebration.
