THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Steps have been taken to provide self-defense training to female employees of the Beverages Corporation. The training will be given by the women's self-defense team under the Janamaithri Police Division. The training will include how to prevent physical attack in case of an incident. One session is 20 hours. Anyone interested can register for the training.

The action is in the wake of increasing misbehavior towards female employees. Training will be provided on a district basis on December 1. Four female police officers proficient in martial arts have been assigned for the training in all districts. The coordination is done by the Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs). Range DIG is the nodal officer of the project. The training is free of cost. The authorities said training is on the strategies to escape from attackers.
