Marco Rubio to be new Secretary of State, Matt Gaetz Attorney General; Trump chooses loyalists for top jobs

WASHINGTON: American president-elect Donald Trump is on a spree assigning major portfolios to his loyalists.

Marco Rubio will be the new Secretary of State. Rubio is a U.S. senator from Florida. He is also the first Latino to hold this position. Tulsi Gabbard is the new Director of National Intelligence. She is a leader who recently defected from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.

Matthew Louis Gaetz will become the Attorney General. Matt Gaetz is a Trump loyalist and representative from Florida. Just one day back, Trump selected Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In a statement, Trump made it clear that Musk and Vivek will restructure the bureaucratic functions of his government, eliminate impractical regulations and control overspending. Both will also take the initiative to reorganize the functioning of federal institutions under the government.

Trump said that Musk and Vivek would bring out the fraudulent conduct of the former government and remained optimistic about the duo making America great again. President Joe Biden hosted Donald Trump at the White House last night. Both the leaders in bonhomie said there would be a peaceful transfer of power on January 20 next year.
