MUMBAI: In a recurring episode that has left the authorities fuming, yet another bomb threat reached Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) terminal 1 control room received a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon. The anonymous caller gave a tip-off about a passenger named Muhammed heading towards Azerbaijan, carrying ammunition in his luggage. The caller never revealed the flight details.

More police forces were immediately sent to the spot but nothing was found. Security at the airport has been beefed up as a precautionary measure. Passenger details are also collected. Police are now on a mission to identify the anonymous caller.

Issuing fake bomb threats to airports has turned into a favourite pastime for some people. The Nagpur police some days back arrested a 35-year-old man named Jagadeesh. According to police, the arrested man is a history-sheeter but it is unknown why he resorted to issuing fake bomb threats. The police tracked him from the email address that issued the bomb threat.

Security at airports and planes has been increased as threat messages have become more common. Passengers are also being monitored.
